an immersive journey through sound, taste and Euro-Mediterranean culture
On 25 August 2026, the historic Ryad Los Símbolos in Tetouan will host the first Moroccan edition of Sound Bites, the immersive sensory experience created by Polysonica, curated by Ipologica, and produced by Brain Community APS and Polysonica, in collaboration with the Association Coexistence de la Culture et de l’Art.
Following its successful editions in Italy, Sound Bites crosses the Mediterranean to establish a new cultural bridge between Europe and North Africa, inviting audiences to explore the connections between sound, food and shared cultural heritage.
For one evening, the Ryad Los Símbolos will be transformed into a responsive audio-visual environment where sensory storytelling meets Euro-Mediterranean cuisine. Equipped with wireless headphones, visitors will experience a carefully guided tasting journey in which every gesture, ingredient and culinary action becomes part of a living sound composition.
Through bespoke sound design and real-time audio processing, the sounds generated by food preparation, textures and movement are captured, amplified and transformed into an immersive acoustic landscape. Cooking is no longer only something to observe or taste—it becomes something to listen to.
Blending contemporary artistic research with culinary traditions, Sound Bites encourages participants to rediscover food as a shared cultural language, capable of telling stories of exchange, migration and coexistence across the Mediterranean.
The Tetouan edition reinforces the commitment of Brain Community and Polysonica to developing innovative cultural projects that foster intercultural dialogue through participation, creativity and sensory experience.
The event is supported by the Anna Lindh Foundation, whose mission is to strengthen dialogue between cultures across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
